One sergeant major has been killed and five other soldiers have been injured in a clash that erupted between the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Kabr Al-Mukri region in Syria’s city of Al-Bab.
206 ISIS targets were annihilated, 23 ISIS members were killed in offensives launched yesterday (January 25), according to a statement issued by the TSK about Operation Euphrates Shield launched jointly by the TSK and Free Syrian Army (FSA) this morning.
Four soldiers are in Kilis, the other is in Antep
According to a statement by the Chief of General Staff, Sergeant Major Kerem Çalışkancı aged 25 lost his life.
The five wounded soldiers were brought to Kilis State Hospital in Kilis province. One of the wounded soldiers was then transferred to Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Practice Hospital.
So far, 55 soldiers have lost their lives during the operation, which was commenced on August 24, 2016. The offensive launched into Al-Bab started on December 9, 2016.
