One soldier has lost his life and nine others have been injured in Operation Euphrates Shield carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and Free Syrian Army (FSA).
The TSK has announced that one soldier has lost his life in the attack carried out by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) with a bomb-laden car in al Bab province in Syria.
According to a report by Doğan News Agency (DHA), the sergeant major who had lost his life in the attack which took place on the 118th day of Operation Euphrates Shield and another soldier with severe injuries have been brought to Antep province by helicopter. The injured soldier is under treatment in Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital in Antep.
The other eight injured soldiers were brought to Kilis State Hospital for treatment.
20 soldiers killed
In Operation Euphrates Shield launched on August 24, 2016, 12 soldiers were killed and another had lost his life in an accident in the attacks carried out by ISIS in Jarablus, al Rai and al Bab regions according to the TSK. Three more soldiers were killed on November 24 in an air strike on TSK forces near al Bab. TSK had announced that the attack was carried out by Syria yet according to the statement of Russia, the attack was carried out neither by Russia nor by Syria.
Since November 24, three more soldiers had lost their lives in the clashes between TSK and ISIS.
Lastly, a soldier injured in al Bab region had lost his life on December 17 in Gaziantep University Hospital where he had been brought to for treatment the previous day. (AS/DG)
