One soldier has been killed, three others wounded during the Euphrates Shield operation carried out by Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and Free Syrian Army (FSA) into Syria.
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) launched an attack on FSA-held Ziyara, located on the east of Syria’s Rai region, killing one soldier and wounding three others yesterday (October 5).
Recently two soldiers were killed in the Syrian operation on September 20. The death toll has risen to 11 in Syria with this latest attack.
Statement by the TSK
TSK said in its statement that 18 ISIS members were killed.
The statement announced that control has been maintained in Turkmen Bar, which is one of the important settlements on the way to ISIS’ one of the most important cities Dabiq. Ali Şeyh Salih, the commander of Sultan Murat Division within the FSA, was killed in the clash yesterday.
TSK declared that control has been maintained at 115 different point wihin a range of 980 kilometer square by the FSA since the beginning of the operation. (AS/TK)
