Conflict has erupted in Turkey’s southeastern Cizre and Silopi districts of Şırnak province. Curfew was declared on December 14 in the two districts. National Education Directorate had sent SMS to teachers on December 13, informing that they were taken to in-service training, and the large part of the teachers receiving the message had left the districts.

The operations in Cizre have intensified in Sur, Cudi, Nur, and Yasef neighborhoods.
The operation began yesterday (December 15) in Silopi. Heavy gunshot and explosions heard all over the night in the district.
Last morning, silence took over Silopi and military dispatch was continuing. Last night, military and police launched attack on the district with heavy weapons. Soldiers and police officers have been deployed in schools evacuated in Silopi.
