A social media campaign has been launched for imprisoned journalists in Turkey.
The campaign launched by a group of journalists has also seen support from international freedom of expression advocate groups including the Amnesty, International Press Institute (IPI), English PEN, The European Centre for Press and Media Freedom, Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
Tweets have been posted with the hashtags #GazetecilereOzgurluk(Freedom to Journalists) and #FreePress, the #FreePress has entered Turkey's agenda in a short time.
Furthermore, the journalists will gather in front of the Post Office in İstanbul's Kadıköy district at 11 a.m. on Saturday (March 11) and send a letter to their colleagues imprisoned in Silivri Prison No.9.
The letter campaign as well is shared on social media with the hashtag #TecriteKarşıMektup (Letter Against Solitary Confinement). (EA/TK)
