CNN Türk General Director Erdoğan Aktaş has been asked for information about an investigation launched into students who protested him with their questions at a panel organized at Ankara University, Faculty of Communication.
Remarking that “launching an investigation into students doesn’t comply with libertarian understanding of academic world”, Aktaş said he won’t file a complaint against the students.
Investigation into students
According to a report by Kolektifler.net, Aktaş came as guest speaker to event titled “July 15 and Media” organized at Ankara University, Faculty of Communication Communication Researches and Execution Center.
The students protested CNN Türk’s publishing policies with their questions. As Aktaş was leaving the hall, a student saying “Milestone of your career might be July 15 but our saddest day is October 10”, handed the report titled “October 10 Massacre in Media” prepared by DİSK Press-Labor.
The investigation was launched into the students upon notice by Ankara University Presidency. (BK/TK)
