Indictments on the three editors-in-chief who have been arrested on charge of “terrorist organization propaganda” for joining the Editor-in-Chief on Watch campaign are still at court.
Of the arrestees, indictments on Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Turkey Representative and bianet rapporteur Erol Önderoğlu, and Turkey Human Rights Foundation (TİHV) Chair Şebnem Korur Fincancı are kept by İstanbul 13th Heavy Penal Court. The court is expected to see the indictments on Friday (July 1).
Indictment on journalist author Ahmet Nesin is at İstanbul 14th Heavy Penal Court. It is unclear when Nesin’s indictment will be seen.
Probe into 50 people
Three editors-in-chief participating in the solidarity act were referred to court by Prosecutor Eşref Durmuş to whom they went to testify, and that arrested by the court.
Önderoğlu, Korur Fincancı and Nesin are only three of the 50 editors-in-chief who are facing probes. (EA/TK)
