Dicle News Agency (DİHA) correspondent Nazım Daştan, taken into custody in Antep, has been arrested on charges of “propagandizing for the terrorist organization” in his Facebook postings.
According to DİHA’s report, Daştan taken into custody yesterday (February 11) evening while going home, has been referred to the court after the procedures in the police department.
After giving testimony before Antep Court, Daştan has been referred to Gaziantep 1st Criminal Court of Peace demanding arrest.
Journalist Daştan has then been arrested on claims of “propagandizing for the terrorist organization” in his Facebook postings and has been sent to Antep H-type Prison
Including Daştan, the number of journalists in prison has risen to 33 in Turkey. (EA/DG)
