Journalists to act in solidarity with their colleagues working in difficult conditions in Kurdish cities under curfew will be in Diyarbakır on February 3, Wednesday.
Ayşe Yıldırım from Cumhuriyet daily, Celal Başlangıç and Said Sefa from Haberdar news website, Ceren Sözeri from Evrensel daily, Ergun Babahan from Özgür Düşünce daily, freelance journalist Evrim Kurdoğlu, Önder Öner from Effective News Agency (ETHA), and Tunca Öğreten from Diken will attend the first watch in the solidarity act materialized under the name of News Watch.
The journalists will support their colleagues and make reports. The reports will take place on blog of News Watch.
Coordination will be facilitated by the journalists in the region during the News Watch. Since the watch is a solidarity act, it will be acted in contact with local journalists.
Those who want to join the watch will determine the date and the period of participation by themselves. Those willing to aid may help as either correspondent or editor. (EA/TK)
