"Cevizoğlu is Fired Due to New Regulations"

Derya Sazak, editor-in-chief of Yurt Newspaper, stated that columnist Hulki Cevizoğlu is not dismissed due to directive of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, chairman of Republican’s People Party (CHP).

He said to bianet that new decisions about both newspaper and TV and Cevizoğlu is dismissed within the frame of these regulations.

"We asked him whether more dismissals will take place. However, he didn’t respond us but only said that there is an ongoing process," he said. 

Hulki Cevizoğlu announced that he is fired from Yurt Newspaper and Channel Sokak.

Over his Twitter account, Cevizoğlu stated that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made directive about dismissal of him and Durdu Özbolat, Kahramanmaraş parliamentarian of CHP, at the same time, owner of Yurt Newspaper and Channel Sokak conveyed that directive to him.

Cevizoğlu was also one of those who reacted against the candidacy of Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu. After the candidacy of İhsanoğlu was announced, he resigned from Halk TV where he worked only one day and then started to write in Yurt Newspaper where Derya Sazak is editor-in-chief. (EA/MUY/BM)
