Ötüken Journal Threatens Agos Newspaper, Fatih Akın
Turkist Pan-Turanist Association’s Ötüken Journal threatened both Agos Newspaper [a Turkish-Armenian weekly] and Fatih Akın [award-winning German director of Turkish descent] on twitter because of the interview he gave to Agos.
| "Kurdish director Fatih Akın who is known with his close relationship with PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) tells the story of so-called Armenian Genocide on his movie "The Cut". Under the leadership of Agos Newspaper, they are trying to screen this movie in Turkey.
As Turkist Pan-Turanist Association, Ötüken Journal Organization and Young Atsızs we are not going to let this movie to get screened in Turkey. This is the first step of a scenario planned to enforce the lie of so-called Armenian Genocide to Turkey. We are openly THREATENING Agos Newspaper, Armenian fascists and so-called intellectuals. That movie is not going to get screened at any of the movie theaters in Turkey. We are following the updates on this with our white berets and Azerbaijan flagged gliders. Let's see if you can!" |
Last week director Fatih Akın gave his first interview on his movie "The Cut" to Agos Newspaper. The movie tells the story of an Armenian Genocide survivor looking for his daughters.
On the interview, Fatih Akın mentioned that he believes the Turkish society is ready for a movie like this and his biggest hope is screening the movie in Turkey.
According to the report on agos.com.tr Ötüken Journal published a threatening message on twitter about this interview and said "This movie is not going to get screened at any of the movie theaters in Turkey. We are following the updates on this with our white berets and Azerbaijan flagged gliders. Let's see if you can!"
Additionally, Dokuz Tuğ Journal published a public support message to this threat. (NV/ENU)
