Women politicians imprisoned in Kocaeli Type F Prison have written a letter to the Council of Europe, European Parliament, United Nations and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and embassies about Turkey's offensive into Afrin.
The arrested women MPs, co-mayors and politicians are as follows: Aysel Tuğluk, Burcu Çelik Özkan, Çağlar Demirel, Edibe Şahin, Figen Yüksekdağ, Gülser Yıldırım, Gülten Kışanak, Nurhayat Altun, Sebahat Tuncel and Selma Irmak.
The women in the letter voiced their "concern about Turkey's military operation into Afrin" and their "call for democratic and peaceful resolution".
Three demands for Afrin
Following demands were expressed in the letter:
* Military operation launched into Afrin be stopped
* Afrin residents' fundamental rights including right to live and right to health be ensured
* All sorts of humanitarian aids including health and food aids be immediately sent to the region. (AS/TK)
