The court has ruled arrest of attorneys Ayşe Acinikli and Ramazan Demir from Libertarian Jurists Association (ÖHD).
Acinikli and Demir had been detained in house raid along with seven lawyers on March 16, and released by the court in which they appeared on March 19.
Upon the prosecutor’s objection, İstanbul 2nd Criminal Court of Peace has issued custody order on Acinikli, Demir, Hüseyin Boğatekin, and Ayşe Başar.
Boğatekin and Başar were released upon their objection.
“I will carry out my job in prison”
Lawyer Demir said, “We didn’t plea earlier, and we won’t do it”.
ÖHD shared pleas of the lawyers as follows:
“Our cases Interests of our clients are more important to us than the arrest warrant. I accomplished the main goal for me to come here, which was to complete the missing documents as to application to the European court of Human Rights for people who were burned alive by the state in the basement.
“Even you arrest me, you won’t achieve your goal. I will carry out my job in prison”.
Lawyer Acinikli noted stated that “You don’t behave unjustly toward us but our clients”. (BK/TK)
