Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Vice Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş have made statements as to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s remark that “terror” supporters have to be denaturalised.
Bozdağ: Works will be carried out
Minister of Justice, Bekir Bozdağ said, “There are people who quit being citizen upon request like the ones who earn it. At the moment these rules are applied in compliance with current legislation. Mr. President stipulates new legislations with his statement. Works related to this statement will be carried out”.
Kurtulmuş: Will be done if required
Numan Kurtulmuş hosted by Editor desk of the state-run Andolu Agency said, “There is no work being carried out by Ministry of Justice at the moment but it will be done if required”.
Davutoğlu: No work is being carried out yet
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu stated that “If a person aspires to harm people of a country via terror, then it means that person has already cut his/her moral ties with that country’s people. There is no matured work or subject on which is discussed yet” at the press meeting he held at Esenboğa Airport ahead of his visit to Finland’s capital city of Helsinki.
What had Erdoğan said?
“If this is called a challenge, then yes, I with the title of President challenge anyone harboring ill-will against Republic of Turkey. Maybe we die one by one, but we kill them 10 by 10, 20 by 20, 30 by 30. It continues like that. We have to be determined to take all precautions including depriving the terror supporters of citizenship. They cannot even be our citizens”. (NV/TK)
