The Assembly of Workers Health and Occupational Safety has declared that 753 workers lost their lives during four months after the “Declaration of Occupational Health and Safety: Target is Zero”.
“Declaration of Occupational Health and Safety: Target is Zero” signing ceremony was held at the 3rd Airport on May 13, 2017 with the participation of former Minister of Labor Mehmet Müezzinoğlu as part of the “employment campaign” launched by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to the stats of the Assembly of Workers Health and Occupational Safety, 753 workers 167 of whom were construction workers lost their lives between May 13, 2017 and September 12, 2017.
That means, at least six workers lost their lives in occupational homicides.
At least 104 workers in May (between May 13-31),
At least 170 workers in June,
At least 207 workers in July,
At least 217 workers in August,
At least 55 workers in September (between September 1-12) lost their lives. (NV/TK)
