At least 161 workers have lost their lives on the job in January, according to the Worker Health and Occupational Safety Assembly.
Among the dead were six women, 155 men, two children and seven refugees.
The January death toll is the highest that has been reported in the last five years: In January 2013, at least 81 workers lost their lives, followed by 101 in January 2014, 128 in January 2015 and 119 in January 2016.
Of the 161 workers who died in January were 149 laborers and civil servants, one farmer and 11 craftspeople. (NV/TK)
