The girl, her parents and siblings were detained in a terror investigation.
Urfa Bar Association Chairperson Abdullah Öncel told bianet that the child was sent to the courthouse from the Urfa Security Directorate and the prosecutor sent her to the judge, demanding her release.
The Penal Court of Peace ruled for the release of the girl, imposing an international travel ban on her, Öncel said.
The investigation which is under a confidentiality order is continuing.
What happened?
A 15-year-old girl who was detained with her parents and two siblings had been under custody for 12 days in the mostly Kurdish-populated southeastern Urfa province.
Urfa Bar Association Chairperson Abdullah Öncel, who met with the child at the Urfa Provincial Security Directorate, told bianet that she and her family were detained in an investigation related to "membership of a terrorist organization" and "aiding and abetting a terrorist organization." (AS/VK)
