A written statement has been issued by the Community Houses following an operation launched against Community Houses, ended up with detention of a large number of people including Community Houses Co-chair Dilşat Aktaş
Besides, the operation was protested in front of Community Houses Headquarters in capital city of Ankara.
Republican People’s Party (CHP) MPs, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Ankara Provincial Organization representatives and various political party and NGO representative participated in the protest.
Justification: Attempting to take people to street on pretext of protesting Afrin operation
According to a news report on sendika.org, the detainees are charged due to a statement entitled “Afrin war is the war to build dictatorship! We will stop it” released by the Community Houses, and a banner reading “Advocating war is a crime, advocating peace is a right” hung in front of the headquarters.
Concerning the operation, Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office’s statement read:
“We had announced earlier that a wide-scale operation has been launched against those who attempt to take people to street on the pretext of protesting ‘Operation Olive Branch’ on social media. As part of the operation, the detention proceedings for 12 people continue”.
