Journalists, academics and lawyers will march with the slogan “#SözümüzVar” (We Have a Word) on December 2.
Following call has been made for the march to begin at 2 p.m. at Mehmet Ayvalıtaş Square in Kadıköy, İstanbul:
They want everyone to remain silent; may no one think, speak, object but everyone obey...
That is why, they arrest journalists, discharge academics from universities and try to intimidate them through legal actions. They send lawyers to prison for those who insist to not obey to be left defenseless. So, are we going to comply with this dark picture?
Of course not!
Because we have a promise to truth, peace, democracy, equality and freedom.
We will not back give up our promise because fascism begins where words fail. That's why, take your word and come! Come to say your word.
Come to Kadıköy Mehmet Ayvalıtaş Square.
Come on December 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. to march hand-in-hand, eye-to-eye, word-to-word!
The #SözümüzVar hashtag has become top trend topic on Twitter.
The trials of Academics for Peace will begin on December 5. Cumhuriyet trial is on December 25-26. (EA/TK)
