Among the 29 people who have been standing trial in the "FETÖ (Fethullahist Terror Organization) Media Formation" investigation, journalists Atilla Taş, Murat Aksoy and teacher Davut Aydın were released from Silivri Prison.
Davut Aydın was arrested on July 26, 2016, and Atilla Taş and Murat Aksoy were arrested on September 2, 2016.
"It has been 421 days"
Murat Aksoy's speech he delivered to journalists as he left the prison is as follows:
"I am happy. It has been 421 days. Justice has been served even if it's late.
"My only offense is writing. I am outside now. I am happy for myself and my family but we have journalist friends inside. My only solace is that his imprisoned colleagues be released.
In June, 13 people including Atilla Taş, Murat Aksoy and Gökçe Fırat faced aggravated lifetime imprisonment on charges of "Abolishing the constitutional order" and "attempting to abolish government of Republic of Turkey". (HK/TK)
