Curfew has been declared in four areas in Turkey’s southeastern Hakkari’s district of Şemdinli.
Declaring that an operation will be launched in the areas of Çatalca, Güvenlik, Erdemli and Soğuksu, Hakkari Governorship announced that entrances and exits are prohibited for 24 hours as of 5 a.m. today (October 16).
Students and shuttles have been exempted from the ban, the statement issued on governorship’s official website added.
About ŞemdinliŞemdinli is one of the three districts in Hakkari. It borders on Iran and Kurdistan Regional Government. TUİK’in 2015 verilerine göre nüfusu 55 bin 199. Its population is 55,199. Its square measure is 1,452 kilometers. Its altitude is 1,450 meters. Şemdinli Co-Mayors: Seferi Yılmaz and Nahide Yılmaz from the Democratic Regions Party. |
