State-run Anadolu Agency (AA) has announced the new development in the debate that the July 15 trial defendants wear uniform attire.
According to Tanju Özkaya and İsmet Karakaş from the AA, works have started following the proposal that “Fethullahist Terror Organization/Parallel State Structure (FETÖ/PDY) members wear uniform attire”.
The color of the FETÖ members will be dry almond, the AA reported. Following this report, the media has been debating on what sort of color the dry almond is rather than the fact that the uniform attire planned to be implemented for July 15 trial defendants is an antidemocratic practice and a right violation.
Prisoners will manufacture
No decision has been taken yet on whether the defendants to wear uniform attire but if the decision is taken in this direction, 50,000 attires will be manufactured by the prisoners at the prison workshops, the report stated.
The proposal was brought forward by Erdoğan
The uniform attire proposal was brought forward by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after Gökhan Güçlü, who has been tried on charge of attempting to assassin Erdoğan, came to the hearing held on July 13 with a t-shirt reading “Hero: Heroes are immortal”. (HK/TK)
