The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has added Bosnian and Albanian to the list of foreign languages which may be taught in schools.
Both languages will be taught as a part of the "Living Languages and Dialects" optional courses offered at secondary schools.
On February 22, Farsi, Korean and Urdu were also added to the list of potential foreign language course offerings.
Optional courses
The following languages will be offered as optional courses in the 2017-2018 school year;:
Living Languages and Dialects: Adyghe Language – Cyrillic alphabet
Living Languages and Dialects: Adyghe Language – Latin alphabet
Living Languages and Dialects: Abkhaz Language
Living Languages and Dialects: Kurmanji
Living Languages and Dialects: Zazaki
Living Languages and Dialects: Laz Language
Living Languages and Dialects: Georgian Language
Foreign Language: German
Foreign Language: Arabic
Foreign Language: French
Foreign Language: English (YY/DG)
