An explosion occurred at around 10:30 p.m. yesterday (December 10) near Vodafone Arena stadium in İstanbul's Beşiktaş district.
The booming was heard from many districts, the witnesses said two different sounds came at the moment of explosion.
Agencies reported that the explosion was carried out with two vehicles and the target was riot squad forces.
Mnister of Interior: The attack killed 29 people, wounded 166 others
Confirming the agencies, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu declared in its initial statement that the attack was launched with two vehicles, wounding 20 people.
Later, Soylu in his latest statement announced the casualties as 29 dead two of whom are civilians and 166 wounded.
Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) declared temporary gag order on the incident. (HK/TK)
