Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Vice Co-Chair in Charge of Foreign Affairs Hişyar Özsoy has called German tourist Leonard Viohl, who was subjected to police violence in İstanbul for having papers reading “Free Demirtaş” in his pocket. Özsoy thanked Viohl for his solidarity with HDP’s arrested Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş.
Coming to Turkey from Germany for a touristic purpose, Viohl had faced police violence for having papers reading “Free Demirtaş” in his pocket and recorded the incident with an audio recorder.

Calling Viohl on phone, HDP’s Özsoy said he will be happy to entertain him in his next visit to Turkey.
Stating that he is happy to receive a call by a HDP official, Viohl noted that he will take legal actions about the situation he was subjected to. (ÇT/TK)
