Hakkari Governorship: Not 18 but 15 Killed in Şemdinli Attack

Hakkari Governorship announced today that the death toll in the attack carried out by members of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Şemdinli district of Hakkari as 15 today (October 10). 10 soldiers and five civilians lost their lives in the attack, according to the Governorship.  

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım had announced yesterday that the death toll was 18 including 10 soldiers and eight civilians.

The Governorship has added that the four of the civilians, who had lost their lives, were citizens of the Republic of Turkey and that the treatment of eight other soldiers and 12 civilians continued in Şemdinli, Yüksekova and Hakkari State Hospitals, Van Region Training and Research Hospital as well as Van Yüzüncü Yıl University.
