A rocket has been launched by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) at Sabah market on Tekke street located in Canpolat Neighborhood in Kilis’ city center at around 2:40 p.m, injuring six people, five of whom were children.
Kilis Governor İsmail Çataklı has said five of the wounded are not in critical condition.
Prime Yıldırım Binali Yıldırım announced that one of the wounded is in critical condition.
Kilis Mayor Hasan Kara said another rocket was launched at 5 p.m. and another one injured.
The wounded people have been taken to Kilis State Hospital by 112 Emergency Service teams. The state-run Anadolu Agency reported that the wounded people are not in critical condition.
Police teams closed off the scene and evacuated the citizens.
According to a report by Doğan News Agency, 22 people including 12 Syrians were killed in the rocket attacks launched by ISIS on Kilis as of January 2016.
The latest attack was launched on Kilis on September 9, injuring none.
ISIS had announced it reached border
ISIS’ news center Amaq had reported that ISIS seized the villages of Tal Hajar, Shayah Kabirah and Shavah Saghirah located at the east of el Rai following the intense clashes.
The Turkish Armed Forces and Free Syrian Army have been combatting ISIS in the ISIS-held el-Bab border. (AS/TK)
