An intense explosion has taken place at Beşyol position in Van province. A large number of ambulance have been dispatched to the scene.
The explosion occurred in the area between Justice and Development Party (AKP) building and Governorship building, the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
On the live broadcast on Habertürk, AKP Van MP Beşik Atalay stated that the explosion occurred as a result of detonation of a bomb-laden minibus.
Van Security Director Suat Ekici announced that 27 people were injured in the attack. Of the wounded, two were police officers and 25 were civilians.
At 1 p.m., the Governorship issued a statement declaring that 48 people including two police officers were injured in the explosion. (EKN/ÇT/TK)
