Education Union member and from the Academics for Peace, Damla Karaman was released after prosecution received her testimony yesterday (September 11).
Karaman was detained due to the detention warrant issued for her in historical town of Assos in Çanakkale province.
Karaman's testimony was received in Ayvacık Courthouse. According to the information that her attorney Can Güngör gave to bianet, she was asked whether she had any links to the Gülen Community. Negating the questions, Karaman was released following the testimony.
Güngör explained the testimonial process
Güngör said the following about Karaman's testimonial process:
"There was a prosecution decision to have her testimony with the suspicion that she might have a connection with the FETÖ-PDY (Fethullahist Terror Organization-Parallel State Structure).
"The prosecution asked the questions 'Do you have an account at the Bank Asya, have you ever taken out loan? Did you ever attend in schools or private education institutes? Did you work at these schools? Did you have any contact with this organization at the university? Do you know anyone in contact with this organization? Have you used ByLock software?'. Karaman negated all of them and was released". (BK/TK)
