Yesterday evening (August 10), the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) carried out bombings in Turkey’s southeastern Mardin’s Kızıltepe district and Diyarbakır’s Sur district.
According to the Mardin Governorate’s statement, one police officer and two civilians were killed and five police and 15 civilians were injured in an attack by car bomb directed at a police service vehicle.
The attack took place in the neighborhood of Aşıtı at the intersection of TOKİ Street and Kızıltepe Public Hospital.
The Diyarbakır Governorate reported that in Sur five civilians were killed and five police and seven civilians were injured in a car bomb attack directed at a transport service vehicle for riot police on On Gözlu Bridge on Mardin highway.
Fırat News Agency (ANF) reported that in the Sur attack, four civilians were killed and nine police were injured. They also reported that in Kiziltepe four civilians were killed and 50 people were injured.
In Doğan News Agency’s (DHA) report, while 50 people were injured, out of these six police and 13 civilians were being treated in the hospital. (EKN/KT)
