Improvised explosive device planted on the road by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members have been detonated during the passage of military vehicle in Turkey’s southeastern Beytüşşebap district in Şırnak province.
The statement issued by the General Staff Department of Public and Press Relations, stated that three soldiers killed, 10 others wounded in the offensive which was carried out on the vehicles heading to HABUR-2 Border Gate in Beytüşşebap in Şırnak province.
The General Staff Department of Public and Press Relations announced that following the bomb attack, which took place at around 7:30 a.m., an offensive was launched with rocket launchers and long-barreled weapons from Iraqi side of the border
An explosive planted on the road was detonated by the PKK members in Şırnak’s Uludere.
According to the report of Al Jazeera citing state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), five soldiers killed and eight others injured in the attack.
Fırat News Agency (ANF) reported that at least eight soldiers lost their lives. (EKN/TK)
