In 13 villages in Diyarbakır’s Lice, Sivan, Kulp and Hazro districts there has been a curfew announced starting this morning (August 9) due to the fact that “operations will be launched.”
According to the prohibition posted on the Diyarbakır Governorate’s official website, the ban was announced in these villages:
* Dolaplıdere and Dağcılar villages in Silvan District;
* Çıralı, Kıyıköy, Dallıca, Türeli and Kutlu villages in Lice District;
* Demirli, Kamışlı, Çukurca, Bayırköy, Temren and Taşköprü villages in Kulp District;
* The exact boundaries of the ban in Hazro District were not clarified.
It was announced that the ban went into effect at 5 a.m. this morning. The end time has not been determined.
Yesterday’s ban lifted
The curfew announced yesterday for the mountain and forest regions in three of the city’s districts was lifted as of this morning.
The ban that was initiated yesterday at 5 p.m. and lifted at 4 a.m. this morning covered these areas:
The northern forest and mountain regions of Silvan and Hazro districts and the northern mountain and forest regions of Kulp District.
Drone/UAV ban in the city
The governorate separately announced a forbidden zone for the flying of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV or drone) and motorized light aircraft in the city’s airspace.
The justification for the ban is that “these aircrafts’ unpermitted flights, and the photographs and videos they take jeopardize flights in military and civilian areas,” it was announced.
