Agos weekly’s One lieutenant colonel, two noncommissioned officers, one sergeant major and one publisher owner have been detained as to assassination of Agos weekly’s Editor-in-Chief, Hrant Dink within scope of probe into gendarmerie officers.
Teams with İstanbul Security Directorate Anti-Terror Bureau Directorate have launched simultaneous operations in İstanbul and Trabzon as to gendarmerie officers related to the murder.
Was gendarmerie at the crime scene?
It had taken place in the media that the Prosecution alleged within scope of the probe that three gendarmerie intelligence members were at the scene on the day of the incident.
According to this, the Prosecution asking for the cell phone records on murder day from the Telecommunication Communication Presidency detected that six numbers signaling from the area on the day of the murder were registered on Gendarmerie Intelligence.
In the investigation process, some cell phone records were examined and some Gendarmerie cell phone numbers were come across.
However, “gendarmerie” didn’t take place in the indictment among the suspects. (EA/TK)
