Of the three figures arrested for assuming the position of Editor-in-Chief on Watch at Özgür Gündem daily, Turkey Human Rights Association (TİHV) Chair Şebnem Korur Fincancı has been taken out of the solitary confinement cell.
Attorney Meriç Eyüboğlu announced that Korur Fincancı was transferred to ward from the solitary confinement cell.
Eyüboğlu in her statement she made on social media expressed that she received this news from People's Republican Party (CHP) Malatya MP, Veli Ağbaba who met Korur Fincancı this morning (June 27).
"Finally a good news. Şebnem Korur Fincancı quit the solitary confinement cell and was taken to ward by this morning. Just now the MP Veli Ağbaba phone, thanks to him as well..."
Korur Fincanci who got arrested on June 20 was kept in one-person cell where academic Esra Mungan stayed who was kept in prison for signing the peace declaration.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Turkey Representative and bianet rapporteur Erol Önderoğlu and journalist author Ahmet Nesin getting arrested with Korur Fincancı for serving as Editor-in-Chief on Watch over on charge of "terrorism propaganda" are also being kept in prison. (AS/TK)
