In Hacıbekir neighbourhood of Van, two police officers have lost their lives, one other injured upon detonation of a planted improvised explosive device while armed police vehicles were passing by.
The attack reportedly has been carried out by YPS (Civil Protection Units) around 11 a.m. near Dumlupınar School on Hisar street in Hacıbekir neighbourhood in the central İpekyolu district.
The improvised explosive device planted on the road earlier, has been detonated through a remote control.
The injured police officer has been brought to hospital for treatment and air operation has been launched in the region. (EKN/DG)
