Sergen Sucu has announced his conscientious objection via press meeting he held in Eğitim-Sen (Education Union) Diyarbakır Branch.
Sucu telling that he rejected to submit exemption despite him being 69% handicapped which allows him to be exempt from mandatory military service, has said “By denying life and diet based on animal massacre triggering war, I declare my conscientious and vegetarian life style as a stance and responsibility from nature to first air, water, soil and to all peoples”.
According to the data of Conscientious Objection Association, Sergen Sucu has become the 500th person announcing conscientious objection.
Sucu in brief spoke as follows:
“First of all, I would like to declare that I issue this statement with my ecologist, sanitarian and handicapped identity.
“I announce that battling, exploiting and property culture doesn’t lie at the heart of human who is a handful of soil from nature, a glass of water.
“I believe that the only gain of peace and natural living against capitalism is not militant understanding but the objectionist one.
“Once more, I advocate life and peace and reject killing!” (EKN/TK)
