Curfew has been declared on Saturday (April 23) in 16 villages of Turkey’s southeastern Lice district of Diyarbakır province.
The curfew declared villages are as follows:
Dibek, Arıklı, Çağdaş, Yolçatı, Tepe, Serince, Beğendik, Esenli, Kabakaya, Uçarlı, Kayacık, Ortaç, Yalaza, Bağlan, Çavundur and Dolunay.
Lice sub-Governorship in its statement expressed that the curfew is being imposed on the aforementioned villages due to the operations to be launched against “Separatist Terror organization” to restore public order and establish public peace.
According to the report of Veysel Polat from T24, operation was launched in rural Lice with the declaration of the curfew.
As military units were deployed to rural areas of the villages of Yolçatı, Dibek, and Çağdaş, howitzer shootings started to be launched from the post stationed on Tepe area. (EKN/TK)
