The four academics, namely Assist. Prof. Dr. Esra Mungan, Assist. Prof. Dr. Meral Camcı, Assist. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Kaya, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kıvanç Ersoy being tried for signing the declaration entitled "We will not be a party to this crime" will appear before court for the first time today.
Trial of the journalists, Can Dündar and Erdem Gül was also heard todayin Çağlayan (April 22).
Hearing of the academics began at 2 p.m. The journalists' hearing was held at 10 a.m.
Those coming in early hours for solidarity gathered in front of the courthouse in the early hours.
Police formed circle around the courthouse.
Academics, university students, journalists, MPs, Peace Mothers, psychologists...A large number of people and institutions rallied for "justice and freedom".
Everyone demand release of the academics.
They state the academics are behind their demand for peace.

People including Republican People's Party (CHP) MPs sing folk songs on rostrum.
The students are dancing the halay.
