Truth Justice Memory Center has reported human rights violations experienced during the curfews through interactive tables developed on the basis of data from Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV).
At least 1,642,000 victims of human rights violations
At least 1,642,000 persons within the curfews in provinces declared as of August 16, 2015 have been exposed to violation of most fundamental rights to life and health care.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Health on February 27, 2016, 355,000 persons had been forced to leave the district or the provinces they had been living in and displaced.
According to the data from Human Rights Foundation of Turkey Documentation Center, at least 310 civilians have lost their lives between the first curfew declared on August 16, 2015 and March 18, 2016 in the clashes during the curfews.
Besides, at least 59 unidentified bodies have been buried in Cizre district of Şırnak without identification. And 20 bodies are kept in Forensic Medicine Institutes to be identified in Sur district of Diyarbakır.
According to the data of the foundation, some persons killed, whose bodies were found, could be identified by their families or through DNA-Match yet the doubts concerning time, cause or mechanisms of death remain. (AS/DG)
