Explosion occurred in Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakır on way to Urfa by coach station during the passage of armored vehicle carrying special forces police at around 5 p.m. yesterday (March 31).
The minister announced casualties
Minister of Development, Cevdet Yılmaz has announced that in the attack launched by bomb-laden vehicle seven police killed, 27 injured of whom 13 are police and 14 are civilians.
Yılmaz in his announcement noted that he has been there for reconstruction of Diyarbakır, and that of the wounded one civilian and one police are in critical condition.
Diyarbakır Governorship in its statement after Yılmaz announced the number of wounded as 29 of whom 15 are security forces.
The attack took place on the street located between Hamravat and Gökkuşağı housing estates. The area is in Bağcılar neighborhood 20 km away from city center.
A large number of ambulances have been referred to the area. (NV/TK)
