The curfew in Turkey’s southeastern İdil district of Şırnak which has been in effect since February 16, will be limited to the hours between 9.30 p.m. and 4.30 a.m. as of tomorrow (March 31)
CLICK - CURFEW DECLARED IN IDIL
Şırnak Governorship has made the following announcement on their official website;
“The curfew declared in İdil district and Dirsekli village of our Şırnak province in order to catch the members of the Separatist Terrorist Organization, remove the barricades trapped with explosives and close the ditches and to provide security of life and property of our people, has been lifted between 4.30 a.m. and 9.30 p.m and will be in effect between 9.30 p.m. and 4.30 a.m. as of 31.03.2016 Thursday”.

İdil district of Şırnak province is a neighbour of Cizre, Midyat and Nusaybin districts and has land borders with Syria and the Iraq. It is located at a distance of 60 km to Mardin province and 24 km to Syrian border gate. The district has an area of 1,224 square km and is the district which has the greatest number of villages in Turkey. It has a population of 73,348 people. 46,865 of whom are from the country-side and the other 26,453 from the center. It is 14 km away from Şırnak Airport constructed in 2013. Agriculture Faculty of Şırnak University and İdil Vocational High school are also situated in the district. İdil district is the second place resided by Christians in Anatolia following Hatay. Church of Virgin Mary is located in the district. The demographic structure of the district has changed upon Muslim families began to settle in the district center after 1970s which had earlier been inhabited by the Assyrian population mainly.
