Diyarbakır Governorate has issued a statement as to photos of naked people alined by the wall in Turkey’s southeastern Sur district of Diyarbakır province.
The governorate said removing the clothes of those who surrendered was a “precautionary measure”. It expressing the photos have been taken without permission declared that an investigation has been launched.
The statement of official website of the governorate stated that removing clothes of people surrendering is a precautionary measure against negative cases such as suicide bomb, bombed trap, suicide act, which is a common practice all across the world.
“However, it has been seen that photos of people who surrendered were taken and released without permission. Our Governorate has set a commission regarding this situation and launched an investigation right away”, the statement concluded. (BK/TK)
