It has been announced that 18 areas in eight districts in Bingöl province have been declared “temporary security zones” until September 1. The concerning cabinet decision has been issued in the official website of Bingöl Governorship.
Reason: Citizen’s right to travel
The reasons of the decision have been explained as follows:
“The separatist terrorist organization’s and other terrorist organization’s activities of terror and intimidation have influenced the social and economic development of our province negatively recently.
“As a result of these activities, our citizens have been destituted of carrying out economic and social activities as and their right to travel.
“Our Governorship is taking every sort of measures in order to provide security of lives and property of our citizens in particular as well as maintaining present environment of peace and safety and protecting our state and people from all kinds of threats and attacks of terror”.
“For this purpose and on the basis of the cabinet decision No 2016/8558 on February 23, 2016, as well as Article 32/A of Military Prohibited Areas and Security Zones Law, entering following areas between March 1 and September 1, 2016 has been prohibited:
* Hasar plateau and Hasar hill in Ortaçanak region
* Şeytan mountains, Şeytan creel, İlbey-Maltepe valley in Sevkar region
* Sağgöze, Büyükçağ, Yeniyazı, Dikpınar, Derman and Şekeran regions
* Karacehennem Woods region
* Yenibaşak-Doğuyeli region
* Horivanik-Tahkim Creek (Pohus valley) and Kırköy woods region.
* Çomak creek region
* Akımlı plateau region
On November 3, 2015, six areas had been declared safety zones earlier and the temporary security zone execution in 13 regions in five districts had been prolonged on January 4, 2016. (AS)
