Two specialized sergeants have been killed in the clash between Civilian Protection Units (YPS) and soldiers in Turkey’s southeastern Cizre district of Diyarbakır province.
Funeral will be held for specialized sergeants Osman Kaplan and M. Hakan Kaçar at Diyarbakır Military Hospital today (February 25).
Fırat News Agency following the curfew imposed as of December 2, 2015 reported that “Attacks against Sur district have entered 85th day, and heavy artillery shootings are being launched on Savaş and Cemal neighborhoods”.
They lost their lives at hospital
The General Staff’s statement on its official website as to Osman Kaplan is as follows:
“One of our hero friends wounded by armed assault launched by terrorists who are member of separatist terror organization during the operations ongoing in Sur district of Diyarbakır province on February 24, 2016 Wednesday, they were urgently referred to hospital, yet martyrised at 11 a.m. despite all efforts”.
Following this statement, Specialized Sergeant M. Hakan Kaçar was wounded as well in the conflict. Kaçar being taken into Diyarbakır Military Hospital for treatment couldn’t be saved.
He was laid away in Hatay
Funeral of Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant, Yetkin Erşan losing his life at Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) where he was treated after wounded in Sur, was laid away in his hometown Hatay yesterday. (AS/TK)
