According to the statement made by the General Staff, one soldier has been killed in İdil district of Şırnak and two others in Sur district of Diyarbakır under curfew during clashes with Civil Protection Units (Yekineyen Parastina Sivil-YPS). Another soldier has been injured.
Identities announced
The identity of the soldier killed in İdil during the clash has been declared as specialized sergeant Mustafa Can Kalfe and the other two in Sur as specialized sergeants Coşkun Karabulut and Serdar Akın.
23-year-old gendarmerie specialized sergeant Mustafa Can Kalfe’s family living in Afşin has been informed on his death. Kalfe who had began his duty last year in August will be laid to rest within the ceremony held in Afşin today.
27-year-old infantry specialized sergeant Coşkun Karabulut killed in Sur will be laid to rest in Akşehir Garnizon Martyrs’ Cemetery following the funeral ceremony held in Akşehir Nasreddin Hoca Square in his hometown Konya.
Karabulut who had been a specialized sergeant for three years had been dispatched by Kayseri 1st Ranger Brigade Command on a temporary mission to Sur district of Diyarbakır.
31-year-old gendarmerie specialized sergeant Serdar Akın’s family living in Kemer district of Antalya province has been informed on their son’s death in Sur. Akın, father of one will be laid to rest today in his hometown Muş. ( AS/DG)
