Demirtaş: How Many Killed in Cizre in 20 Days Unknown

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair, Selahattin Demirtaş has stated they don’t know how many people have been killed in Cizre district of Şırnak province over 20 days.

Demirtaş attending in 15th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of Revolutionary Workers' Unions (DİSK) has responded to reporters’ questions as follows:

“We don’t know how many people have been killed in Cizre over 20 days. There is no exact figure because there isn’t any healthy process there.

“We have the bodies are being distributed to many districts. The families are trying to identify their children by travelling city by city. Also mental torture is being inflicted on the families.

“War crimes are being committed there. The government assumes it will be easy to cover these. No, all of these will be accounted for within the frame of law”.

CLICK - 39 BODIES RETRIEVED FROM CİZRE

Yesterday, Ayşe Dicle speaking to bianet while waiting to get the two bodies said 39 bodies were taken out of the district. However, the death toll is still unknown.

Cizre statement from General Staff

General Staff made the following statement as to Cizre today:

“As entire Şırnak / Cizre district has been taken under control; 16 separatist terrorist organization members have been neutralized, 24 bodies of terrorist organization members were seized at eight different buildings in the ongoing operations. In the operation, the number of terrorists neutralized has reached 619”.
