Entrance of the delegation consisting of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) to Cizre district of Şırnak province to provide aid for the wounded stuck in a basement was hindered yesterday. The delegation returned to Mardin after issuing a press statement.
The delegation includes figures such as DBP Co-Chair Kamuran Yüksek, HDP MPs Celal Doğan, Dengir Mir Mehmet Fırat, İdris Baluken, Dirayet Dilan Taşdemir and Mithat Sancar in addition to voluntary health workers.
İMC TV reports that the delegation demanded permission to enter after holding a meeting with gendarmerie commander.
Yüksek and Baluken made a statement upon the efforts yielded no results.
Baluken: The government doesn’t permit life corridor
Baluken stating the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government doesn’t permit even a delegation willing to form a life corridor, noted the blocking was government’s will.
“They were saying that some deep forces were being effective in the blocking in the talks we had up till now. However, we see when we came here that this deep force is the government itself”, Baluken said.
Yüksek: They don’t want wounded to be treated
DBP Co-Chair Kamuran Yüksesk said, “They plan to bury people alive. This blocking means ‘We don’t want the wounded to receive treatment and won’t make an endeavor to save them’. AKP’s true intention is to execute the wounded. We face a tragedy that will put its stamp on history. We will never remain silent against this and account for it”. (HK/TK)
