Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Group Deputy Chairperson, İdris Baluken, Adana MP Meral Danış Beştaş and Urfa MP Osman Baydemir have gone to Ministry of Interior to have emergency medical and humanitarian aid reach people stuck in the basement.
Beştaş speaking to bianet at 2:15 p.m. said ambulances have set off to retrieve wounded and bodies.
The delegation will continue monitoring the situation at the Ministry until the transportations completed.
Another wounded lost his life
Those injured in Turkey’s southeastern Cudi neighborhood of Cizre district of Şırnak province have taken shelter in a basement as of January 24. Death toll has climbed to five with death of Nusret Bayar among the injured.
Beştaş expressed that they met the Vice Minister of Interior at 11 a.m. today (January 27).
“We’ve expressed the condition of the injured to him once more. Report of the latest death came during the talk. We said that ambulances should immediately head there, there are already five casualties and the death toll to increase in case no medical response is carried out.
“We’ve noted that such an outcome will have heavy consequence for both families and public.
“He held some talks with [authorities in] Cizre. We are constantly in touch.
“Medical teams are let in; the ambulances have set off. We are awaiting the transportation of wounded and bodies. Our monitoring will continue”. (BK/TK)
