Explosion in Schoolyard in Kilis

An explosion has taken place in schoolyard of Eyüp Gökçeimam Secondary School in Kilis city center.

One person died, three others wounded in the explosion.

Kilis Mayor Hasan Kara on NTV live broadcast said, “May our people be calm and quiet. The people shouldn’t allow a provocation”.

Kilis Governor Süleyman Tapsız has gone to school for investigation.

The explosion that took place at around 9:30 a.m. reportedly was caused by a mortar shell coming from Syrian side.

Official statement is yet to be made by 11:45 a.m. (EKN/TK)
