Support grows for the academics who are being targeted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, and being prosecuted on the basis of Anti-Terror Law for releasing peace declaration.
The number of journalists declaring support for the academics has exceeded 500. Cumhuriyet daily Chief Editor, Can Dündar and its Ankara Representative, Erdem Gül imprisoned as of November 26 over their reports of MİT trucks carrying arms are among the signees.
The journalists in the text in which they declared their support had said, “We, as journalists suing for peace, declare that we stand with the academics saying ‘We will not be a party to this crime’ and want to do journalism in time of peace, not war”.
